Why You Should Start A Podcast With Cliff Ravenscraft Ep77

cliff_ravenscraft

Cliff Ravenscraft is one of the first names you hear when you start the process of starting a podcast.  In this episode, we talk about why right now is the perfect time to start a podcast.

Podcasting has now hit the mainstream with the success of shows like Serial, The Nerdist, and the Joe Rogan experience.  We dig into why no matter what type of business you have that podcasting can fit into taking your message to the next level.finding your voice as a podcaster which relates closely to the book and the stories I've shared.  The conversation gets really interesting since the week before Podcast Movement Cliff was returning from a Tony Robbins event, yes the one where a few people go burned walking over hot coals.  Cliff did it and didn't get burned by the way.  There are some very eye-opening concepts I'm sure would benefit anyone that listens.

Finding your voice as a podcaster can be a struggle that some never overcome.  The subject relates closely to my new book and the stories I've shared within.  Cliff shares how he found his voice and his dreaded first episode.

As the conversation progressed it gets really interesting because we get into some of the takeaways from the Tony Robbins event Cliff and his wife attended, yes the one where a few people go burned walking over hot coals.  Cliff walked through fire and didn't get burned by the way.  There are some very eye-opening concepts and a couple fo revelations I had when talking with Cliff and I'm sure you're going to get a ton of value from this converation.
A few of the things I covered with Cliff:

[spp-timestamp time="12:10"] : The incredible things that podcasts can offer to your business; and ideas on how you can monetize your shows locally by talking to business about podcasting and how those conversations could turn into additional income streams.

[spp-timestamp time="14:00"] : How Cliff evolved from his first episode to how he sounded today; how he found his voice; and the passion that fuelled him in each and every episode.

[spp-timestamp time="16:05"] : Cliff negates false presumptions that we are fed about podcast launches and episode editing; salient points to consider when deciding between batch processing and recording one episode at a time.  Along with  excellent advice on key things to consider after you decide to become a podcaster.

[spp-timestamp time="26:23"] : How Cliff continues to grow despite already releasing thousands of episodes and how not batch processing gives him the flexibility to share what’s in his heart at the moment that it needs to be shared.

[spp-timestamp time="28:29"] : Cliff shares takeaways from a Tony Robbins event he and his wife attended including how to decide to intentionally live in a positive emotional state of mind and how you can control your emotional state anytime you want in an instant by changing your physiology, your focus, and your language. (So Powerful)

[spp-timestamp time="38:56"] : Cliff’s experience with post-vacation blues and how he dealt with the depression that can come from having to get back into the daily grind.

[spp-timestamp time="46:46 "]: Learning from other people despite differences in world views and ways of thinking.

I Use Screenflow

I used ScreenFlow for the SnapChat for Business video I posted back in January. Check out some of my quick tips on using Snapchat and it's done with ScreenFlow. It's here: https://vernonross.com/snapchat-for-business/

I personally use ScreenFlow on an almost daily basis and have been for a few years. It's a much better solution than other more expensive programs out there and it's quick to pick up and start using right out of the box. If you attended Podcast Midwest last year you know that Telestream among others sponsored a 4 license give away for my listeners and attendees of the podcast.

Welcome Warby Parker

I'm trying out Warby Parker as an affiliate to see if you get value from seeing their products here.  As you know I use them and have about three pairs.  It's actually time for a new pair and the ones listed are the ones I'm considering.  Let me know what you think about them and which ones you think I should go with.
