So What Have I Learned Since 2013

In life my friends you may have to look back in order to move forward.  If history teaches us anything, it teaches us not to repeat the mistakes of the past.  Well at least that what you have the opportunity to learn from those mistakes or triumphs.

Not everything in your past has to be bad, for example, a post I wrote back in 2013 right before I started the podcast. It was about of all things Kung-Fu and the lessons you learn from your clients when you're a coach.

Are you curious about what I learned?

Time and Effort is the Key to Success

I hinted to it in the original post and over the past four years, I've learned how important it is to execute on your plans quickly and to work harder than you think you must to really see positive progress.

I was coaching successful people but not putting in all the time and work that it took to build my own brand, so I had to take a step back and that moment and think about what I really wanted to do with blogging and if I was truly going to launch a podcast.

Within just over a month that podcast launched and has been very successful podcast (Sidenote: You define your own success) that's opened the door to so many opportunities.  By taking action on the very thing I was coaching on and launching my podcast I've been featured on dozens of amazing podcast, booked to speak on 20 plus stages which include paid and unpaid gigs.  Written a book that's launching this June 20th but open for pre-orders now.

But It Gets Better

In addition to all the success, I've had including being invited to teach as an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri - St. Louis teaching podcasting.  I recently was invited to join Podbean to help with some Enterprise clients!

All this success because I took the time needed to work on the things I was coaching on.  Building your personal brand and executing on your goals.  It's been an amazing three years and counting!  Here's the best part I'm just getting started.

Now It's Your Turn

Now it's your turn.  It's time to get started doing what you love and showing up in a bigger way.  One of the quickest ways to show up in a bigger way is to work to get booked on a podcast.  I recommend being interviewed for anyone that wants to grow their business.   Make podcasting the next thing you look at in regards to marketing.

It cost nothing to be a guest on a great podcast unless you use a booking service which is a great idea by the way ( I have friends so ask me) to expand your reach.  The second thing I tell people is to get off the fence and start a podcast.  I recommend Podbean of course, but because the backend is so easy to use.  If you can write a post in WordPress you can create a podcast.
